The Department of Theatre and Dance’s winter term dance production, ’73, is an ode to the 1973 merger of Abbot and Phillips academies. Among many elements of that momentous school year, this show seeks to celebrate the contribution of Abbot Academy’s dance program, which helped to lay the groundwork for the rich performance offerings PA has today. The show features six faculty works—including jazz, contemporary, classical, and modern dance themes— that are set to music of The Temptations, Cat Stevens, Elton John, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Roberta Flack.
