Join fellow Andover alumni and friends on September 24th for a performance of Pamela Weiler Grayson ’82's newest play, Observant. The play synopsis is as follows: Three generations of women confront their relationships to their Jewish identities - and to each other. Comedy and tragedy entwine, like a braided challah, when a mass shooting in their community tests the bonds of faith and family.

Following the performance, Pam and cast members invite audience members to stay and participate in a short, post-show discussion.

To purchase tickets for Observant, please purchase directly with the Chain Theatre by clicking here. Use the promo code OB30, on the second page of registration to receive the discounted ticket price of $30, for the September 24th show only.

We would love for the Andover group to sit together, so please let the Alumni Office know if you are planning to attend, and we can send details about how best to find the Andover group that evening.  You can simply let us know by emailing us that you plan to attend!

A special note from Pam about her time at P.A.:

“I have so many fond memories of my days at Andover, especially time spent rehearsing for shows. I performed in many plays and musicals, as well as the dance concert every year. I was also a features editor at The Phillipian. At P.A. I was always encouraged to explore my creativity. Those years gave me such a solid foundation in academics and the arts. I have deeply fond memories of Mrs. Rubio, our ballet teacher, who let me choreograph jazz dance numbers for the dance concerts, and delighted in my New York-based Broadway style dance moves, even though they were completely outside the ballet curriculum that we were supposed to be following. I also loved being in a production of Pinter’s “The Birthday Party,” directed by the wonderful Jean St. Pierre, and my final senior year show, “Grease.” Andover was truly my favorite overall school experience, even though I also attended other exceptional schools. The combination of academic inspiration and teaching, friendships, extracurricular activities, and unforgettable teachers/mentors at P.A. helped mold me into the person I am today. Andover holds a special place in my heart, and it always will. I’m thrilled that Andover is coordinating a New York Regional event to see my play, OBSERVANT, which I believe is a truly timely piece, and I hope alums will enjoy the show!”
