CAMD Scholar Presentation
Sarah Pan ’24 challenges the idea that technology develops on a straightforward, positive path of social progress. Pan shows how blind faith in technological progress provides cover to troubling inequities and disastrous human outcomes also at play in the process of innovation.
By delving into historical contexts, philosophical perspectives, and the psychological effects of artificial intelligence, Pan encourages us to confront our relationship with technology, society, and, ultimately, ourselves.
6:30 p.m. — Dessert reception
7 p.m. — Presentation begins
