Civil Rights: The American Story
Students will have an immersive experience that connects the Southern Civil Rights period to a larger, more expansive narrative of social justice in America. This imperfect story will take shape through artistic exploration, conversation and travel on a multi-state roadtrip. Students will explore the economic relationship between the North and the South as well as learn a more complicated version of American history, rich with local cuisine and culture. After the completion of this experience, students will have an intricate understanding of the ways they can apply anti-racism to their personal and community values.
