Performing in the World: Music Tour to Portugal
Music performance tours offer a wonderful opportunity for students in our ensembles to combine focused music-making with educational travel and cultural awareness. This program offers musicians the chance to bring their performances to others, to improve their skills by playing multiple performances of their programs, and to expand their knowledge of the world beyond Andover. This program has long-term benefits for the strength of our music program, while also providing participants with a broader understanding of the world, and thus of themselves. Students will be selected by the director of Concert Band and Jazz Band; there is no need to apply via the LITW portal.
SNAPSHOT
Members of the Concert Band and the Jazz Band will tour Lisbon, Porto, Sintra and other cities important to the history of Europe and of Portugal, and will perform concerts in multiple locations.
