Taking the day on

Dr. Eddie Glaude Jr. keynotes 32nd MLK Day celebration

Andover celebrated its 32nd MLK Day by taking the day ON! Dr. Eddie Glaude Jr., political commentator, author, and chair of Princeton’s Department of African American Studies, served as the day's keynote delivering a hybrid presentation to the community. Glaude Jr. called upon students to be moved to action by the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “Justice is a practice, not an end,” he said from the podium in Cochran Chapel. Invoking Dr. King’s vision, Glaude said: “Build a world—a Phillips Academy—where diversity is not an additive value but a constitutive value.” Students, faculty, and staff also took part in various workshops, performances, and professional development opportunities throughout the day. The day would not have been possible without the leadership and coordination from the Office of Community and Multicultural Development (CAMD).
