Flagstaff wins Cluster Olympics
Community bonds over friendly competitionWhich cluster is the best? This year we have a definitive answer. For the first time in history, PA held the Cluster Olympics during opening of school weekend.
Thanks to the creativity and hard work by many campus adults, the Cluster Olympics was a success that included a dramatic "opening ceremony" procession to Phelps Stadium with each cluster carrying their cluster flag and led by the cluster dean and president.
Students competed in hula-hooping, paper airplane throwing, rock-paper-scissors, and tug-o-war; the event ended with an epic dance party.
You'll have to wait for fall 2025 to see if Flagstaff is able to repeat or if another cluster will gain Cluster Olympic glory!
Earlier in the day, students were invited to compete in a series of other contests: chalk art, slam poetry, a PA-specific crossword puzzle (thank you to Joel Jacob for creating it!), and a lip sync contest.
You can read the winning slam poetry entry below.
winning poem - Pine Knoll
It’s always been about love and peace, Knoll’s the best cluster by far
We rise and shine, no trolls, just good vibes, that’s who we are
“Roll Knoll” echoes strong, stars at night, where we belong
Fox and geese, living free, green’s our color, nature’s key
Quaint circle, spreading love, peace, and everything above
Nathan Hale, Fuess, Stimson too, Cluster Dean Meyer guides us through
Evergreens and fresh, cool air, Knoll’s where we find peace and care
A break from stress, a place of joys, Knoll’s where we lift and raise our voice!
In the Knoll, every step is light, walking paths that feel just right
From the pines to the open sky, we breathe deep, our spirits fly
No place like this, where hearts align, unity and peace combined
We lift each other, that’s our way, making memories every day
Where the sun shines bright and the air is clean, every moment feels serene
Laughs and love, that’s how we roll, living free, that’s Knoll’s soul
Friends for life, we stand as one, under stars when the day is done
