by Allie Ross

Several Andover students had a summer full of performances, lessons, and incredible musical experiences.

Harp student Annabel Kim ’26 won the Korean New York Daily Symphony Orchestra Music Competition and will be performing in Carnegie Hall this winter. Cello players Sarah-Alysse Williams ’28, Ian Gu ’26, and Hannah Oh ’27 traveled to Cremona, Italy, for three weeks and participated in the Cremona International Summer Music Festival. Oh won second prize in the Intermediate Solo String Competition and earned the opportunity to play in the 2024 Solo Winners' Competition at the Cinema Teatro Filo.

William Ge ’25 attended the Frost Chopin Academy in Miami, the Art of the Piano Festival in San Francisco, and the Morningside Music Bridge program at the New England Conservatory. While at the Frost Academy, Ge won the inaugural Concerto Audition. And Melody Oh ’27 participated in the National Youth Orchestra 2 (NYO2), performing as a second violin and an assistant concertmaster in Carnegie Hall and the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas.
