Applying to Summer Session
The Application for Summer 2025 will open on December 2nd
How To Apply
Andover Summer is a selective program, offering admission to talented, motivated youth from all over the world. Each year we receive several thousand inquiries, and we use the application to identify those students who are most eager for - and best equipped to handle the challenges of - an Andover academic experience.
The Andover Summer application opens in early December
You can expect to work for ~3-5 hours on your online application for admission to the on-campus Andover Summer program. The application includes:
- Personal, Family, and School Information
- Three short answer essay questions
- Two Recommendations (sent electronically to the core academic subject teacher(s) of your choice and your school guidance counselor or administrator)
- Transcript
Upon submission of your application you will receive email confirmation from our office.
Completing the application
Applications are considered for review once all required letters of recommendation, transcripts, essays and other components are complete. Applicants must also submit the non-refundable $75 application fee. You may check the status of your application in the Applicant Profile section here.
Decisions and Enrollment
Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis, beginning in December. Students can expect to receive a decision within 10-14 business days after submitting a completed application. Our most popular courses and programs begin to fill in February each year, and our Summer Session program is typically full in late March/early April. Students admitted after the program is full will be considered for our waitlist. No applications will be reviewed for admission or waitlist after April 30th.
Upon acceptance, applicants will have 2 weeks to complete the enrollment process, at which point enrolled students may begin selecting courses and preparing for the summer.
English Language Learners
Students applying to Summer Session must have basic English language proficiency for consideration. A beginner level ELL course is not offered, therefore students should have scored at or above 80 on the TOEFL iBT, 6.0 on IELTS, or between 95-100 on Duolingo. While we do not require submission of these exams, please keep these scores in mind when deciding to apply. If a student does not self-select the ELL program, the admissions committee may make a determination that the ELL program is best suited for a particular student during the review process.
Apply Now
